1999-2000
The
1999-2000 year saw the Tigers
again being coached by Don Billig.
It was a good year for several individual wrestlers, although a
losing season for the team. The
Bloomsburg Tournament began with successes by Zach Wehr placing first,
Justin Romanot placing second, Brad Christ third, Mike Stepan and Scott
Anders fourth, Austin Sukanik fifth, and Brian Brooks sixth.
The team took fifth place this year.
Zack
Wehr led with a first place in the Emmaus Tournament.
Scott Anders, Nate Kline and Mike Stepan all placed third, with
Brad Christ and Brian Brooks taking fourth.
Fifth place winners were Austin Sukanik, Justin Romanot and John
Watt. In the Christmas
Tournament Zach Wehr and Brad Christ placed fourth.
Senior Co-Captains were Zack Wehr (35-6), Brad Christ (19-13),
Brian Brooks (19-9) and Justin Romanot (14-14).
Zach Wehr became only the second wrestler in Northwestern history with
100+ career wins. His
career record was 104-35 and he placed an impressive 3rd
place in Districts, Regionals and States.
Mike Stepan took 6th in Districts.
Brian Brooks was our Scholar Athlete this year.
