1987-1988
1987-88 The Tigers, under the
direction of Coach Huesgen, had a league record of 2-6, finishing 4-13-1
overall. Highlights of last
year's season included Scott Derr's 100th career win and his
being named Northwestern's Outstanding Wrestler.
Scott also captured his fourth league title, fourth district
title, third regional title and he took third place at States.
Sophomore Matt Masters had a great season also, tallying a 28-6
record. Matt finished
second in Districts, Regional’s, and he won his first trip to States.
Chris Shalbert won a Jim Thorpe Championship along with placing
fourth at Leagues, Districts, and Regional’s.
Todd Fluck's fine season included a 22-10-1 record, finishing
second at Jim Thorpe, third at Leagues, and Districts.
